Kitten season

Kitten season

Kitten season is upon us once again, a little earlier than usual, as it usually starts in April. We currently have 10 kittens in our care, living with very kind (and slightly exhausted) fosterers. 2 of the kittens are less than a week old and are being hand reared so they are fed 2 hourly, around the clock. Litters vary in size from 1 to 8 or more, with the average being 3-5. It is more important than ever that we promote responsible pet ownership and that we encourage everyone to have their pet spayed or neutered. Letting pets "have a first litter" is not doing the pet a kindness and adds to the burden of unwanted animals who inevitably end up with a charity like ourselves, flogged on gumtree or dumped to add to the ferrel population. If you are struggling to meet the cost of spaying or neutering, please contact the PDSA or ourselves and we will try to assist you.
